Everything about Theology Proper totally explainedTheology Proper, otherwise known as Biblical or Practical theology is the study of God in a Christian Trinitarian system, and includes the study of the Holy Spirit ( Pneumatology) and the study of Jesus Christ ( Christology). The term Theology literally means the study of God, but is usually used in the generic sense to encompass all sub-studies. The main areas studied are the the attributes and works of God and the nature and purposes of the church. Biblical theology generally avoids the speculative nature of other theological approaches and confines itself to an inductive study of the Scriptures with the intent of nurturing the church of whom the theologian proper is a representative. The implications of biblical theological studies can be readily practiced in the Christian community and can be assessed in its interactions with wider society. Biblical Theology properly practiced involves ongoing feedback between community and theologian. Attempts to discern the purposes of God through personal and corporate prayer are integral to this process. Soteriology, the study of salvation, and ecclesiology, the study of the ways Christians organize and conduct themselves, are of high importance.
